According to information from the Milton-Freewater School District, someone shot at the school Tuesday evening.

After discovering a bullet hole in the door and down a hallway, custodians notified police and sent students home for the day.

According to officials at Pleasant View Alternative School, the slug apparently penetrated the door, went down the hall and bounced off the plexiglass window of a bulletin board. It then became lodged in a door at the rear of the hall.

Umatilla County Sheriff detectives are working on the case and officials are reviewing all security camera footage. A school official who left the building around 7:30 p.m. did not report or notice any suspicious activity.

The alternative school is operated through the Milton-Freewater School District. Due to the continuing investigation, classes were cancelled Thursday as well. Students at the school do not have class on Friday, and Monday is the Veteran's Day Holiday.
