According to information released by the Milton Freewater School District, the entire district has been closed, no school, Friday September 14th.

Parents began to receive notifications of the closure early Friday. According to MyColumbiaBasin.com,  school officials received a "credible threat" from an email. A person notified officials that a student told another they were "going to shoot up the high school."

Superintendent Rob Clark said none of the schools would have classes today, the district would "err on the side of caution."

Umatilla County Sheriff's and the Milton Freewater Police are investigating, more information is expected later Friday.

According to VERY unconfirmed social media reports, some of the issues also stemmed from a number of fights that have occurred during this last week, possibly gang related, but those have not been commented on by officials. Several parents who posted said their children witnessed the incidents, and they stand by their students' claims.
