Hundreds of famous celebrities donate, auction, or raffle off personal items for charity.  But which stars keep up to 90% of the proceeds, while others give 100%?  It will surprise you!

When stars donate items (clothes to cars,  and everything in between) to be raffled, auctioned or sold off for charity, don't assume 100% of the money goes to charity...quite the opposite.   Officials from Selig Multimedia report many of the stars keep a percentage of the profits for themselves.   For example, through a series of online auctions,  pop reality tart Kim Kardashian keeps upwards of 90% of the proceeds from sales of her personal items on E-Bay through their giving works program.   Surprisingly, at the other end of the spectrum, some of the most charitable stars (who almost always give 100 of proceeds to charity) include Charlie Sheen, Milie Cyrus,  and Sienna Miller.  However, due to a steady streem of auction and donations items, Kardashian is one of the top philanthropists when it comes to total dollar amounts over a long period of time.   So, charities profit (somewhat) she scores, everybody happy.  But many critics argue that celebrities tend to be in a better financial position than most people, and if they are going to donate to charity, it needs to be just that-charity, not profit.
