A trio of gas stations in North Spokane have been engaging in what they can an "unintentional" gas price war, and it seems it's going to stay that way.

According to NW Cable News and KREM 2 TV,  the stations near the intersection of Wellesley and Nevada have been dropping prices in response to the "other guys", and they currently sit at $2.89 for a gallon of regular octane fuel.  That's near my old neck of the woods in the Northern part of town, when I lived there  years ago.

The prices dropped dramatically starting on Monday of this week, and have been inching downward.  One of the station owners said it was unintentional,  their cost had dropped dramatically, and to boost sales, they lowered the price pump as well.

The other two stations saw the lines forming at the competition, and posted prices to match.   Pretty soon, and throughout the week, there have been lines at all three at word has spread about the price, which is as much as $.40 cents cheaper than the Eastern Washington average.

And consumers will probably be happy, because the owner says, based upon their pricing information,  the prices will probably stay that low for a while!

Why can't this ever happen in Tri-Cities?
