Early Friday morning around 8:30am, Kennewick police responded to the Dennys' parking lot at Kennewick Ave. and Highway 395, after passers by saw two people inside a car who appeared to be unconscious while the engine was running.

Police showed up to do a welfare check and found 26-year-old Kari Berg and 25-year-old Malia Burrows sleeping inside. However, police said alleged narcotics were visible inside the car.

Burrows received a citation for giving a false name to officers, while Berg was jailed on possession of a controlled substance and a legend drug. A legend drug is another term for a prescription drug, or one that cannot be given without doctor's permission.
