According to sources, DEA agents and police were combing an area on East 25th and Private Road 1977 just off Highway 397 in East Kennewick early Tuesday morning.

Little information is known, but it's believed the DEA is leading the sweep, and that is has to do with illegal drugs laced with Fentanyl, which is highly addictive. Officials have not said if they have any arrests, but the investigation continues.  It is possible they were targeting a ring or source of the illegal drugs.

Other reports indicate the growing number of overdoses in the Tri-City and Mid-Columbia prompted the investigation, crack down and raid. Especially with Fentanyl, which is exploding in use across the country.

The investigation is expected to continue. This image shows the general area where the 'raid' was happening.
