The Moses Lake Police Department are reminding folks that even using a fake gun out of anger can get you in trouble with the police.

The incident was described on the Moses Lake Police Department Facebook page where road rage got out of hand with one driver brandishing a gun...that turned out to be fake.

Here is what the Police Department said about the incident:

As a friendly reminder, we urge you not to point guns at people in fits of anger, even if the gun ends up being fake.

Yesterday, we investigated an incident in which a man was arrested after pointing a very realistic-looking bb gun out the window at another driver. The suspect told officers he was having a “bad day“ and said the gun “isn’t even real.” The suspect didn’t seem to grasp what all the fuss was about.

The accompanying photograph shows the gun in question. This gun is virtually indistinguishable from a real firearm, especially when pointed out a car window at someone. As many law-abiding members of our community choose to carry firearms for self-defense, this suspect is very lucky all he got was a trip to the jail and felony charges.

So, don’t. Just don’t.

I'd say that's a good piece of advice from the police to not wave around a fake weapon even in anger, you'd still could go to jail! Below is the actual "fake" gun...pretty close to the real thing!
