Portland High School Cancels Winter Dance Because of Grinding
Cleveland High School in Portland, Oregon, has cancelled its winter formal. The vice-principal told the student newspaper he's sick and tired of the grinding.
The administration became so exasperated over grinding a few years ago that they created "No Grinding" t-shirts and handed them out for kids to wear. The problem is even worse now than back then, he says.
But that's not all, the vice-principal said he's also sick of parents not showing up to pick up their kids from the dance until midnight when it ends at 11 p.m. That means he and one or two of his staff are hanging around until the wee hours of the morning waiting for parents.
Until the kids promise not to grind, there will be no more dances, they said.
