In one of the most contested races in our area, Senator Sharon Brown (GOP) got the most votes (just over 22 percent) out of six candidates in the Primary for Benton County Superior Court Judge Position 1.

The backlog of candidates came about when Judge Bruce Spanner announced he would retire at the end of his term this year.

Senator Brown led local veteran attorney Dave Petersen (22.93 to 20.67%) so they will square off in November.  The other vote getters were:

  • Franklin County attorney and county prosecutor Sean Sant 19.1 percent
  • Bronson J. Brown  16.1
  • Shelly Ajax 11.1
  • Talesha "Tali' Sams 8.5 percent
