The fate of a man pulled from the smoke and the cause of the fire were still unknown late Thursday as fire fighting crews finished an evacuation of the Casa Grande Apartments. An investigation of still lingering smoke was underway.

Fire engines from all over Benton and Franklin counties responded.

Fire crews surrounded the building.
