Richland police are seeking the driver of a Mercedes Benz wanted in connection with a hit and run.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, a skateboarder was crossing the intersection of Thayer and Snow Streets when the car either struck the rider or caused them to take a violent fall. The female driver allegedly stopped and offered the victim money and a ride, but declined to stay at the scene, telling the skateboarder she had to pick up her children at daycare!

She is described as a white or Hispanic woman in her late 20s or early 30s, about 5' 6" tall with dark hair and eyes. The vehicle is described as a silver or grey Mercedes Benz four-door sedan, possibly a C-class vehicle.

The skateboarder headed off after the incident with what he thought were scrapes and bruises, but later visited an emergency room with what police are calling significant injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Richland Police Department at 942-7716.
