Howard Amon Park in Richland will be the site of this year's National Night Out Against Crime.

National Night Out is part of a nationwide campaign to unite communities and call attention to ways to preventing crime in neighborhoods.

Richland's National Night out will take place Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 5-8 p.m. with a wide variety of activities. These include:

  • Live band
  • free hot dogs and ice cream to the first 500 people
  • special displays from the Richland SWAT, Fire Department and Bomb Squad.

The event is sponsored by Target, and the public is invited to attend. The Richland Police Department website has additional information. The event will be held in Howard Amon Park behind the Richland Community Center.
