Kennewick police are still investigating an accident Monday morning a round 8:30 am, involving a ten-year-old juvenile.

Police say the boy was walking east on West 4th towards Edison and did not stop at the crosswalk. He reportedly ran out into traffic and was struck by a driver who had a green light at the intersection.

Police say drugs or alcohol were NOT involved, and the driver was not distracted. The boy was conscious and alert but was taken to TRIOS ER with undetermined injuries. Police say anyone who might have been in that area or seen the accident is urged to call (509)-628-0333.

They emphasize that not only to drivers need to be on the lookout, but parents stress to students walking to and from school they must obey traffic lights and signs, and make sure they are crossing streets safely and correctly.
