Suspect Sets Victim’s Car on Fire During Domestic Fight in Kennewick
A Kennewick man is behind bars after a bizarre domestic violence incident Friday morning.
POLICE CALLED TO THE 1100 BLOCK OF NORTH ARTHUR
Upon arrival around 7:20AM Police located the victim, her car, and a short time later, the suspect.
Fire units also were sent as the man had poured gas on her vehicle and set it on fire.
Police say the man physically assaulted her while both were inside the car, then jumped out and poured and lit the gas while she was still inside.
Fortunately, she escaped and was not hurt. The amount of damage to the vehicle is not known.
The suspect was located at a nearby residence and arrested on a variety of charges, including (according to KPD)
"Attempted Assault 1st-DV, and Arson 1st-DV."
The DV refers to domestic violence. Sometimes charges can be enhanced due to domestic violence especially if they are more violent.
