A bizarre set of events from Saturday near Priest Rapids Dam in Grant County

Man arrested after pointing a gun at workers, firing random shots

Grant County Sheriff's officials have released information, and some drone footage, of the apprehension of a gun-waving and firing man from Saturday.

33-year-old Bobby F. Tahmalwash is in the Grant County Jail following the incident. Around 11:30 AM he allegedly pointed a gun at some construction workers near Priest Rapids Dam. He then crossed over the dam to the west side, and reports came in of him firing his handgun in random directions.

This brought out the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team (TRT). After the team tried to negotiate with  Tahmalwash to give up his gun and surrender, he refused and tried to drive back across the dam.

Suspect has vehicle rammed by a TRT vehicle, blocking his path.

Tahmalwash jumped out of his rig, but was promptly subdued by K-9 Chewbacca and taken into custody.

After he was treated for the "K-9 contact wounds" he was taken to the Grant County Jail. His vehicle and gun were seized, authorities said he has not indicated why he was behaving in this manner. The investigation continues.
