We don't always agree with Gov. Inslee on many issues. But on this one, we completely agree on his call for Washington State Auditor Troy Kelley to step down from his position. Kelley is facing multiple federal tax evasion, fraud and other issues stemming from business deals in his mortgage-real estate firm before he became Auditor.

The name Jason Jerue is so unknown in the Washington State Auditor's office, most employees don't ever remember seeing him there.  That could be because the part-time technical writer telecommutes from California and has done so since the beginning of 2013.

When your state auditor has their home searched by Treasury Agents while the official is on vacation, and a subsequent subpoena is issued for documents, it gets peoples attention. But some reporters have found possible backround evidence as to why the feds are snooping around.

Federal Justice Department officials won't comment on the issue, but it's created a cloud of mystery.
