Tuesday, Benton County Commissioners took bold steps, some say harsh, and dramatically changed the landscape for legal pot. The Commissioners voted to ban all future pot related business (growth, processing, sales) and did away with medical marijuana communal gardens...

Likely fueled heavily by a torrent of complaints and public comments from people who live near pot farms and stores, Benton County commissioners have placed a six month temporary ban on all new pot business developments, at least in the Finley area.

It originally began as a moratorium on new pot shops and business, but now County Commissioners are taking a stronger stance.

Although officials have not confirmed this, it's likely the firestorm of resistance from West Richland citizens that's prompted Benton County Commissioners to put a plan in play that would eventually prevent any more pot business from opening in the county.

Monday, the Pasco City Council expanded a previous ordinance that will officially ban camping in any park maintained or owned by the city.
