You may have heard of the "What's Upstream" campaign that was launched by money from the Environmental Protection Agency Region 10 (The Pacific Northwest) that many say was a cleverly disguised attack on farmers, ranchers and other ag producers by environmental groups. Now, there's evidence taxpayer money was used to fund the effort, in violation of federal laws.

WA Rep. Dan Newhouse is not amused, nor are farmers and taxpayers. In the continuing seemingly insane federal process of giving grant money to groups who then turn around and attack either the government or other citizens, the EPA is doing it now.

This fall, Washington voters will be asked if they want to have their wallets hit with the nation's first ever carbon, or pollution, tax. Yet, a number of environmental groups are against the idea. Before you start thinking they're pro citizen or business, read on.

The lawsuit is one of several filed against Yakima Valley area dairies, and was filed without  any definite evidence showing the dairy was directly responsible for high nitrate levels found in the area.

Congressional hearings were held this week before the House Natural Resources Committee at the bequest of Rep. Doc Hastings, the committee chair.
