The freeway was shut down due to numerous slide-offs and snowy conditions

Idaho State Troopers responded to a vehicle crash that turned into a heroic rescue after a pickup truck went off a bridge over the deep canyon of the Malad Gorge.

Oregon State Troopers and first responders are reporting Interstate 84, six miles East of Pendleton and six miles West of LaGrande (near Exit 216) due to a crash. Officials say a semi truck possibly contacted another vehicle and tipped over, blocking the Eastbound lanes...

After an investigation, officials now say it was a combination of fog and smoke from large piles of burning dead trees that caused a closure of Interstate 84 near Boardman. It also triggered accidents that injured 7 people.

Fortunately no motorists were injured, but some vehicles damaged after huge slide.

According to investigation, it appears dying driver bravely steered away from other vehicles.
