I live in Kennewick and have be wondering when the irrigation water will be on...I just found out not to expect water for at least 2 more weeks...here's why

Oh, it just had to happen this week! Several homes sustained flooding.

It's been a season marked by water shortages, specific water days, and brown lawns. But with cooler wetter weather, you still have some time to green stuff up before the final day of water delivery.

Next Thursday, August 13, the Kennewick Irrigation District plans a townhall-open house to gather feedback from it's customers, and to inform users what's ahead as we move through one of the worst droughts in recent history.

Wednesday, the Kennewick Irrigation District issued the word that spot watering will no longer be permitted for it's residential customers.

The record heat wave in the Columbia Basin is not helping the Kennewick Irrigation District or other water suppliers, new limitations have been placed on water use.

The Kennewick Irrigation District was informed late Thursday it's diversion rate, or amount of water allowed to be released to customers, will be reduced more than first thought.

The Kennewick Irrigation District (KID) announced Tuesday the implementation of a mandatory watering schedule effective at the end of the month, due to drought conditions.

Annually,  the district has the books pored over by the state.
