As of February 1st, 2021, a total of 1,216 students have formally withdrawn or transfered from Richland, Pasco and Kennewick Schools compared to 2019-2020 numbers--moving to either private, home schools or out of District.
After going against the advice of the Health Department in October and voting 3-2 to keep middle and H.S. students remote, the Kennewick School Board pushed the return (or possible return) out to Feb. 2.
A Declaration of Intent is required for students 8-18 when they withdraw from their perspective school District, for the purposes of home schooling. KSD has seen those numbers more than double this year.
