Spoofing is where a suspect is able to make fraudulent calls using a legitimate number, it shows up on caller ID.

The number comes up as the Richland Police Number, but it's NOT them.

Hard to believe anyone would fall for this, but there's been numerous calls.

Kennewick police say a new email scam making it's way across the nation has arrived here. It involves emails that are doctored to look like they come from an 'official' company. The email comes from "Accounts Payable" and demands money.
