The largest piece of Japanese tsunami wreckage to actually reach shore is a biological test tube, with potentially harmful plants and algae, according to researchers.
Seattle Mariners Right Fielder, Ichiro Suzuki, has donated 100 million yen (about $1.25 million) to the Japanese Red Cross to assist with the earthquake and tsunami relief efforts, report the Kyodo News Agency.
Ichiro signed with the Seattle Mariners in 2001 and is the second Japanese-born everyday position player in Major League Baseball.
TOKYO -- A powerful tsunami spawned by the largest earthquake in Japan's recorded history slammed the eastern coast Friday, sweeping away boats, cars, homes and people as widespread fires burned out of control.
