Monday at 1pm, the U.S. Department of Justice plans to stage a press conference, at which time they will release a report on the Zambrano shooting from 2015, as well as their assessments of  Pasco police procedures.

Harsh words were used by the attorney representing a former Pasco police officer involved in the February, 2015 fatal shooting of Antonio Zambrano, basically accusing Franklin County Coroner Dan Blasdel turning a proposed inquest into a 'clown show and circus.'

In February it will have been one year since Antonio Zambrano was fatally shot by Pasco police after throwing rocks at them, and endangering passers-by and motorists near 10th and Lewis in Pasco. Now, for the first time Coroner Dan Blasdel actually has a venue to hold a Coroner's Inquest, which he's been seeking since last summer.

Apparently the SIU, with it's hundreds of pages, videos and other evidence, were not enough.  Gov. Jay Inslee has decided to stick his nose in Franklin County's business.
