There’s A New ‘Sheriff’ in Town, His Name is Sawyer
He doesn't look like the 'traditional' police dog, he actually looks 'meaner.'
Sawyer is an 18-month old Lab Shar-Pei mix dog who almost done with his training to become a new K-9 for the Benton County Sheriff's office.
Sawyer will specialize in narcotics and drug sniffing, and we would imagine he won't object to taking a bite out of a criminal or two. Deputy Joe Mehline will be his handler, and so far, Sawyer looks like he's ready for business.
He will work all areas of Benton County where needed. Officials say it will help free up other drug K-9 units considerably.
