Tip From Another Student Helped Ward Off Potential West Richland School Shooting
If it weren't for another student speaking up to school officials and authorities, who knows what could have happened.
Police investigating the alleged plot by a 13-year-old Enterprise Middle School student to 'shoot up' the facility say they were tipped off any another student who spoke up.
While the investigation continues, officials say the first learned of the potential plot because another student alerted them. Officials offered little information other than to say because this student spoke up, it could have averted a tragedy.
Police say the 13-year-old did have access to weapons. When police found out last Friday, they immediately began to investigate and over the weekend the student planning the shooting was arrested.
Authorities have not said why the student was reportedly planning the shooting.
