Three people are confirmed dead after a Stevens Pass avalanche roared through the Tunnel Creek Canyon Road area.

Information is still being assembled, but authorities say three people died in the slide.  It is not known what triggered the massive snow spill, but police say several other people who were missing are now accounted for.  Officials issued an avalanche warning for above 5,000 feet throughout much of the area, and the Cascades in general.   Heavy snowfall has left unstable snow in less traveled areas.  This slide did not affect Highway 2, it occured just outside of Skykomish.
