Places we miss going because of the pandemic.

A co-worker asked me what I knew about R.F. McDougall's. I told him, "Nothing, but I know they have awesome food." He said, Without a doubt, I miss the shepherd's pie." I've never had shepherd's pie. So, I'm not sure about that.

I am sure, however, that R.F. McDougall's is currently closed.

The popular Irish pub and restaurant (1705 SE Columbia Park Trail, Richland) closed due to the pandemic. I called a close friend who would know. I was told that the owners are concentrating on another property, the old Kimo's, now known as Rattlesnake Mountain Brewing Co.

But what about R.F. McDougall's?

I checked out the website:

R.F. McDougall's, located in Richland, WA, is one of the Tri-Cities' favorite casual dining spots for food and drink. Situated along the magnificent Columbia River, R.F. McDougall's is a fine way to round up the day with friends and family. Our Irish pub is always alive with folks relaxing after a day's work. We also have a grand celebration every St. Patrick's Day, and proudly serve the area's largest blended whiskey collection.

I called the number listed on the site. It's been disconnected. I scoured the site for the menu, drinks, history. This looks like a place my husband would LOVE. What about the shepherd's pie? There's no such item, maybe, my co-worker was referring to the Cottage Pie?

A hearty beef and veggie mix in a Guinness gravy, covered in mashed potatoes, and finished in the oven.

I also did a Google search.

R.F. McDougall's has been described as a staple of the Tri-Cities. I hope they re-open soon.
