Wendy’s Opens One Restaurant (Pasco), Closes Another (Kennewick)
For some, it came as a surprise.
The Wendys' Restaurant on Clearwater, just east of Highway 395, closed it's doors for good on Sunday Feb. 16, but a new one will be taking it's place.
The new location at 5706 Road 68 will officially open February 28, with a 'formal' grand opening event March 7. The location pictured is the one on Clearwater.
A Spokane area based company called Wenspok made the announcement, they own 53 franchise stores. They bought up the Tri-Cities market a few years ago.
The design of the new restaurant will be more like the remodeled location on West Canal in Kennewick, it will seat 58 people in the dining area and have a fireplace and Wi-Fi bar like the Canal venue. Corporate officials call it the "Smart 55" design.
At the March 7 opening event, Saturday, all visitors from 9AM to 1PM will receive a free small Frosty, or a coffee, and prizes will be given away.
The manager of the Clearwater location will oversee the new Pasco store, Clearwater workers will be given the opportunity to transfer to Pasco or to other Wendy's locations in the Tri-Cities.
No immediate word on any plans for the now vacant building on Clearwater.
