A 28-year-old Nampa, Idaho, man was arrested by Kennewick police Aug. 19 with some bad karma.

Aaron M. Carpenter was apparently a guest at the Best Western Hotel at 4001 West 27th. next to the Kennewick Walmart.

Shortly after 10am Tuesday, a customer at the hotel told police Carpenter allegedly stole money from a buffet tip jar in the hotel dining area!

Carpenter was seen leaving the hotel, and walked to the back parking lot of the store.   Police found him there and he matched the description of the suspect given by witnesses.  He was then arrested and has been charged with theft.  He's in the Benton County jail, the money was returned to the Best Western.

No, it wasn't hundreds of dollars. But it's one of those crimes that makes you say, "Really dude?!"
