Will Carving Pumpkins Lead to Them Becoming Endangered Species?

It's become a long-standing tradition. Pick a pumpkin, carve it, maybe somebody smashes it.

But what about the pumpkins? Do you think they like having their guts ripped out, only to have their faces disfigured moments later?

I don't want to become a Pete Pie, so why would a pumpkin feel any differently?

AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON PUMPKIN SPICE!

We use pumpkins and never give back. They become trivial decorations, aftertastes in a Starbucks coffee, and they get forgotten under the mound of whipped cream. Pumpkin pie, nobody actually likes it. That's why there's so much whipped cream and ice cream.

Well, today I choose to take a stand. I'm saying NO to these injustices and heinous acts carried out against these peaceful members of the Cucurbita pepo family.
