Yakima Superintendent Will Join Students in ‘Protest’ Walkout March 14
This is going to raise a lot of eyebrows...
Next week, March 14th, students from Davis, Eisenhower and other Yakima alternative schools plan a walkout to honor the students killed at Stoneman Douglas School in Florida. Some school district leaders are not supporting the national walkout others are.
And, the Superintendent plans to join them. Jack Irion says he's been working hard on and talking to students about preventing school violence, and believes this will call attention to it.
A number of such 'protests' have popped up around the country, but many of them have been clearly tinged with an anti-gun, and anti- 2nd Amendment theme. Supporters claim it's against school violence, but even Fox News is labeling the March 14 events in Florida (closer to the site of the incident) as 'anti-gun marches.
Many of the students will be walking for 17 minutes, one minute for each of the slain student's lives. according to KNDU-TV.
