According to data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA-the National Weather Service folks) anything above 107 Sunday will break the single day record for Tri-Cities for the month of June.

Depending upon how updated the forecast is, the weather experts are predicting at least 102 for Friday, 106 for Saturday and 107 Sunday.

According to NOAA, official temperature records began to be kept for our region in 1937. But if we do hit the predicted 107, or even break it with 108, we've got a few degrees to go before equaling or breaking the all-time hottest day ever in Tri-Cities history.  In August of 1998, we hit 110 degrees, the highest ever recorded here.

Either way, it's going to be warm!  Once you get above 102 or 103, we think it's kind of redundant.  Not a huge difference between that and 107 - it's all hot!

The bulk of the record high temps for June were set at least 30 years ago or more. That mark of 107 all-time for June was set back in 1985.

If it's any consolation, the all-time LOWEST temp for the month of June is an astounding 38 degrees, set way back in 1975 on June 28th. Wow!
