2-Year-Old Struck By Mom’s Car Backing Out of Driveway

Kennewick police are investigating an injury accident that occurred around 11:40am Tuesday morning.

Police and witnesses say a woman was backing her car out of her driveway from an apartment on West 1st. Place near South Morain when she apparently struck her two-year-old son.

Neighbors told police they came outside when they heard the child crying very loudly, He appeared to have been knocked backwards and fallen, leaving a large bump on his head.

According to witnesses and police, the mother rushed the boy to Trios Southridge ER before medics got to the scene, his condition is not known. The incident continues to be investigated.
