4th Of July Fireworks to Launch From a New Location

The 4th of July Fireworks are always a highlight of living near the Columbia River and this year will be a little different.

There will be a new launch site for the show -- but it will offer the same spectacular views.

The new launch site will be right in front of the driving range at Columbia Park Golf Links.

The reasoning for the new launch site is that it's more convenient and further away from vendors.

Lampson Pits was last year's location and in years past, it was on a barge in the middle of the Columbia River.

The barge was sold a few years back leaving organizers scrambling to find a resolution.

Organizers are hoping this new location will also bring an heightened experience for the viewing audience.
