5 Suspicious Dumpster Fires Investigated in Pasco February 1st
It's one thing to have an occasional dumpster fire, especially near restaurants or fast-food venues. Or perhaps it's due to a homeless person, especially in winter.
TO HAVE FIVE IN ONE BLOCK? THAT'S SUSPICIOUS
That's the word being used to describe a rash of dumpster fires that Pasco Fire Crews were dealing with early Tuesday morning (Feb 1st.).
Ben Shearer, the PIO (Public Information Officer) said crews responded to two different fire calls, the first at 1:27 AM in the 1900 block of W. Court near 20th. Upon arrival, crews found four industrial dumpsters that were fully engaged in flames.
Then less than four minutes later, at 1:31 AM, crews found another industrial dumpster on fire in the 1800 block of W. Court.
No other structures were damaged, but the power pole and overhead line in the 1800 block did receive damage from the flames that reached rather high. Franklin PUD crews were brought out to make sure they were safe and OK.
No one was hurt, but Shearer said:
"It is not uncommon to have a dumpster fire. It is uncommon to have 5 dumpsters on fire at the same time within a block of each other."
Pasco Fire and Police urge anyone who may have information or witnessed the fires to call (509)-628-0333. All leads can be confidential.
