Afghan Family Headed to Kennewick Detained 30 Hours at LAX
A family of five from Afghanistan looking to start a new life in Kennewick were detained this weekend at LAX in Los Angeles.
They had a friend in Kennewick they were going to stay with.
The family has three children with the oldest being 7 and the youngest is younger than a year. The family had been travelling on Special Immigrant Visas that are given to people who work for the U.S. Government.
It's unclear what caused these events to happen, but the family was detained for 30 hours, some of that time spent separated.
