After 72 Convictions, Seattle Man Given Short Sentence
In a controversial case, a Seattle man with 72 convictions (14 of which were assault) is seeing some (small) time in a jail cell.
The City Attorney of Seattle has been "going easy" on repeat offenders in the eyes of critics. That probably explains the short jail sentence for this homeless man. Francisco Calderon is 55 years old and homeless. He has a history of drug addiction and an even lengthier criminal record. He was sentenced to 364 days in jail. Attorney Pete Holmes was asking for 50 days and rehabilitation programs for mental illness and drug use.
