Alleged Walgreen’s Armed Robbers Just 13, 14 Years Old
Police have a 13-year-old suspect in custody and continue to search for their 14-year-old accomplice, after an incident Sunday afternoon.
Police say around 2:45PM, an 18-year-old male met up with the suspects in the Walgreen's parking lot, apparently to finish an on-line sale of a cellphone. However, during the transaction an dispute began and a scuffle over the phone, at which time the victim says one of the suspects pulled out a gun.
The two fled on foot with the phone, but following leads in the case, officers located and arrested the 13-year-old. Officers found crime evidence at two locations, apartments in the 2600 block of W. Bruneau Place, and 2600 West Clearwater. The 13-year-old is in the Juvenile Justice Center facing armed robbery charges.
The search continues for his 14-year-old accomplice. The victim was not hurt during the incident. Initial efforts to track the suspects using a K-9 were unsuccessful, due in part to extremely windy conditions at the time.
