Kennewick police are investigating a threat found written on the wall of a restroom at a Kennewick Middle school Monday.

Police say school officials at Horse Heaven Hills Middle School in south Kennewick  notified them that a student saw the written message. It reportedly said there would be a shooting at the school this coming Saturday, March 24th.   Officials didn't say which bathroom, boys or girls, but are thoroughly checking to see if the perpetrator can be located.

According to Yaktrinews.com and school officials, the Tri-Cities has seen an increase in such messages since the February fatal shooting at Stoneman High in Florida.

Last week, two Park Middle school students were emergency expelled for leaving very similar notes in a school bathroom. The students were caught, and told police they thought it was 'funny' and was a joke.
