Area HS Bowlers Roll to State Titles, Placings 3A , 4A (KHS, KAHS)
Did you know, one of America's favorite family pastimes is a varsity sport in WA state?
TIME TO GIVE HIGH SCHOOL BOWLERS SOME LOVE
These kids will take you to the cleaners if you ever decide to compete with them.
For a number of years, the Tri-Cities has been well represented in the WIAA State Bowling Championships, and in 2022, Kennewick's Girls team took 2nd at the 3A finals held February 3-5 at the Narrows Plaza Bowling Alley in University Place (west side).
The Lions are known for having a top-caliber high school team, and other area bowlers do well too.
KAMIAKIN BOWLER WINS INDIVIDUAL 4A TITLE
Junior Hayden Bennet of KaHS won the individual state 4A title and finished with an impressive 4-game total of 871 pins, or a 217 average.

Multiple bowlers from Hanford, Richland, Chiawana, Walla Walla as well as Kamiakin also competed at the event. In previous years, including 2020, Chiawana and Pasco placed in the top ten in 4A. (images courtesy of Kennewick School District).
In both the 3A and 4A ranks, at least 50 schools were represented by at least one bowler. Most schools had at least 2-3.
By the way, the WIAA only offers varsity bowling for girls.
