Athena, OR Woman Accused of Trying to Poison, Kill Daughter

Officials say a 36-year-old woman is in the Umatilla County jail on charges of attempted murder.

Umatilla County Sheriff's say Roxy Brook Pridgen allegedly mixed up a prescription drug into a drink and gave it to her juvenile daughter.

The girl became sick, but survived the doseage. She is expected to make a full recovery. Pridgen is reportedly suffering from mental illness and takes the medication she used in the drink. Officials did not say what the drug was.

Pridgen is facing an attempted murder charge, she told officials she did it because the two had an argument, according to yaktrinews.com
