Baby Sitter Now Accused in Striking Death of 2-Year-Old Richland Boy
A Richland nanny is going to be arraigned on charges after an investigation claims a Richland boy died last summer from a head injury.
2-year-old David Schreiber was apparently choking and unconscious July 18th, 2016 in his Richland home. Richland police report they, and emergency units, responded around 1:34pm.
KEPR-TV says the boy was under the care of Jocelyn Bellon, his nanny, at that time. After performing CPR on the child, he was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center, then transferred to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
During a CT scan performed before his transfer, it showed skull fracture. At that point Richland detectives decided to investigate. The boy's condition worsened and he died July 19th in Spokane. Medical officials said his injuries were not coincidental or accidental, and a head injury was his cause of death.
According to KEPR, a court date will be set for Bellon.
