Ben Franklin Transit officials plan to meet Monday night 5-7pm at the Transit center on Columbia Park Trail, to discuss possible solutions to the loss of taxi service.

Ben Franklin had been in a partnership with A-1 Tri City Taxi since 2002. A-1 had been in operation for 40 years.

However, due to the sudden closing of A-1 in October, BFT was forced to end all of it's taxi services, including Taxi Feeder, Night Service and Sunday Taxi Service.

It is hoped the meeting will provide some potential solutions to the issue facing BFT. A-1 said their closure, and the layoff of some 60 employees, was due to unforseen circumstances. Some say competition from Uber and ride share programs hurt their business.
