In Washington state, school counselors and staff are under what is called 'mandatory reporting' laws, meaning if a student tells them about abuse, molestation or other serious forms of mistreatment, they are required to report that to law enforcement.

That was the case this week in Benton County, when two children, a boy and girl both under the age of ten reported allegations to a school official.

Benton County Deputies investigated and have arrested Enrique Fabian-Claudio, 27.  After the initial investigation, he was brought in for questioning, then later charged with two counts of suspicion of first-degree child molestation.

Deputies did not divulge which city this occurred or what school the children attend.

Deputies say the two cases were isolated, meaning they apparently were not related to each other. The investigation continues.
