Four cases of mumps has been reported by the health department in Mattawa over the last few weeks.

The Grant County Health Department has one case confirmed of the mumps and three other cases under investigation.

They've traced the cases to a farm working housing in the area.

Mumps is one of the most common vaccinations which is included in the measles shot. Mumps is generally spread through coughing, sneezing and passing saliva.

Mumps is highly contagious for the first few days of exposure.

Mumps symptoms include fever, headache, muscle aches and loss of appetite.

Washington State had a severe break out of the mumps back in 2016 with over 800 cases reported.
