According to information from the Benton Franklin Health District, Benton County's new case numbers have fallen consistently over a number of weeks, and are now just below 75 per every 100K of population. Franklin County is still up around 175.

Dr. Amy Person, Chief Health Officer, reported the Benton County numbers are close to the numbers required to re open schools, although likely on a limited basis.

If the numbers continue to fall and stay down, students could be looking at the mixed models in Benton County, where they would be in class 2-3 days a week, the rest online.

However, Person said parents should not expect their children to be 'in school' anytime in the immediate future.

So far 160 deaths have occurred in the two counties, 34 persons are in the hospital with COVID or COVID like symptoms.
