Original story:
Police are investigating a shooting at Howard Amon Park in Richland when the park was full of families, causing chaos, and 1 person rushed to the hospital.
Details are still sketchy but we know at least one person was injured and taken to a local hospital, according to reports.
People at the scene described the incident happening as the park was full from the 4th of July celebrations and fireworks about to start.
"The park was jammed packed with people. Many ran during the shooting. We packed up and left. It was scary." said one person on the tv station Facebook feed covering the story.
Reports came in around 8pm about gun shots at the park. Witnesses say they heard 3 shots but that is unconfirmed from police.
One person posted they heard on the scanner the victim had 3 gunshot wounds, but again unconfirmed information at this time.
"Scanner says one person with three gunshots and one person with an anxiety attack."
The area behind the Richland Community Center is blocked off with crime scene tape as investigators study the area.
Right now, Benton County Sheriff's Office, Richland Police, Kennewick Police, and West Richland Police are all involved.
