Captured Mall Shoplifters Also Illegally Carrying Weapon

Thursday afternoon a trio of thieves busted for shoplifting clothes at JC Penney at Columbia Center Mall were also facing other charges.

Shortly before noon, the three suspects were intercepted by Kennewick police in the parking lot, after store security alerted authorities.

Officers found a variety of stolen clothing items in the car, as well as one of the suspects illegally carrying a firearm. 19-year-old Lino Castaneda-Rodriguez is facing charges for false reporting, theft, a previous felony warrant, and illegal possession of a firearm.

No word on charges against the other two suspects.
