Since 1958 CBC's basketball and volleyball teams have played in the "G" building gym, including former NBA player Byron Beck, who played there in the early 1960's then to the University of Denver, and nearly a decade in the NBA and ABA.
Below is the 1964 men's hoops team that went 27-0, on which Beck played.
Friday, March 4th the men's and women's basketball teams will play the last games in the long-time home for CBC sports, against Treasure Valley Community College, at 4 and 6 PM respectively.
CBC plans to open the new Student Recreation Center this spring semester, it was paid for when CBC students voted to fund the new project. The old building, which served for 64 years, will eventually be demolished.
An official ribbon-cutting for the new SRC is planned for early fall, with the "G" building coming down sometime later.
CBC has won numerous men's and women's basketball and volleyball titles, and the new SRC will also provide new training facilities for the rest of the school's sports teams including softball, baseball, and soccer.
